It's -62 degrees (see above picture). Sidenote: This temperature gauge is on our computer, hence the green, warm picture in the background. It definitely doesn't look green outside now. :)
Our Toyo stove stop working last night. Our poor house guest woke up very cold! He was staying in the room with the Toyo stove. Brad did a great job and fixed it by the end of the day.
It's too cold to bake...our propane is frozen so I can't use the oven today. Sad.Even with the Toyo stove broke and 60 below temperatures, we were excited to have the sunrays enter our abode since that hasn't happened for some time now.
Showers in our house are interesting...due to frozen pipes I have to take showers whenever I can get them. Once the pipes are thawed I take advantage and give the girls a bath, etc. I'm getting used to the idea that I can't take a shower whenever I want to anymore (at least during the winter months).
Our house was so cold when the stove broke that I ended up wearing my winter coat and the girls cuddled up on the couch watching a movie.
You know you're in Bush Alaska when you move to an analog thermometer because the digital one can't measure 60 below.
