I attended a ladies retreat last minute...a ministry whose goal is to encourage missionaries paid for my ticket (a very good incentive for me to attend).
Above: The four hour ride from Anchorage to Soldotna was my favorite part.
Brad was able to spend a few days this last week getting wood and cutting it.

I enjoyed seeing the Northern Lights during my time at the retreat. I really, really, really missed Brad and the girls....honestly, I couldn't wait to get home! Brad said he was encouraged that I wanted to come back so much (even with all the house issues we've had).

I hadn't been to a store for nearly six months and I enjoyed visiting Target for half an hour before we flew out the next day.
Below: Oops...did I post another picture of my handsome blue-eyed husband? My bad.

Our Nae girl celebrated her third birthday yesterday. I was pondering what cake to make for her birthday and figured a dress cake was perfect for her since she asks every morning to wear a dress.
She especially loves poofy dresses. When she got Grandma/Papa's poofy dress in the mail she just kept hugging it and hugging it. She was so happy!
Above: She also received a teaset from Grandma Cheryl and Grandma Wally.
Above: I told Nae to do a silly face and this is what she came up with.
Above: Papa Russ emailed Naomi a birthday greeting and Ruthie helped pick her little sister up so she could view it.
Naomi also was blessed to have Grandma Cheryl and Grandma Wally watch her open gifts. She loved the poofy pink dress from them and wore it today. It definitely won the award for the poofiest dress. :)
{Naomi whining in the background on birthday morning} Ruthie says matter-a-factly, "Will Naomi stop whining when she's FOUR years old?"
Ruthie and Naomi were trying to guess what Grandma sent in the bday package. These are each of their guesses:
Naomi: Maybe a snowman?
Ruthie: No, maybe a ptarmigan!
Much to our enjoyment and relief the gift was a poofy dress and not a live ptarmigan (or a dead one for that matter).

I attempted to decorate the cake and have it match the girl's dresses.

Several kids in our church had January birthdays so we held a huge party for all of them. There ended up being five cakes total. Last minute I printed off a picture of Nae girl and taped it to the cake. Isn't Naomi a cute cake! I just want to eat her up!

Naomi had been waiting a whole month to blow out her candles...she was very excited at this stage of the party!

Below: The poofy dresses from both grandparents. Naomi (and Ruthie) love the dresses!

The girls also are enjoying the comfy and cute pajamas from Grandma Cheryl! Can you mail me one in my size please? ;)
