Using Heat in July? ~

A friend gave us some King salmon...the girls helped me get it ready to bake.
Ruthie: I miss home.

Mommy: Where is home?

Ruthie: With Grandma.

Yes, we turned the heat on in the middle of July! A couple mornings it was just too cold (for me at least). Our house is situated among so many trees that the sun doesn't heat our house till 8pm or so.

Below: Ruthie was enjoying a hearty lunch while watching the neighborhood moose and calf pass by.

After we read a book Ruthie said, "This book reminds me of home!"

The water here is expensive so we try to limit our water usage. Therefore, I took only two showers in over a week! That's a record for me I think. Don't worry...I use vanilla body spray so I shouldn't smell too bad for the most part :)

Below: Our Explorer broke down so we were without a vehicle for a couple weeks. We just walked everywhere. One day Brad walked to get the mail and visit an elderly couple, but came back with wildflowers for me! So thoughtful.

Ruthie was having a hard time at quiet time and kept complaining, so I told her to "change her attitude." The next time I came into the room she was in the corner on her knees. When I asked her what she was doing she said, "I'm praying that I will change my attitude."

Below: I found Nae girl like this...she now prefers to sleep under the daybed. I guess it's like camping out.
