Our village held a five-mile race that I participated in...I haven't ran that far since before the girls were born so I wasn't sure how I would do. The temperature was in the 40's but I like to run in that kind of weather.

Below: While I was running the girls were in a race too. Ruthie got first place...

...and Nae got second. They both won some money which they plan to use to buy ice cream. It was sweet because Ruthie said she wants to use the rest of her money to "tell people about Jesus," so we will mail it to Heartcry.

I ended up getting third place and winning some moolah too. :) It felt so good to run again.

Due to the loud fireworks, this is what Ruthie did a good part of the day.

Handsome man!

They had bean bag races and three-legged races. Brad and I did the three-legged race and ended up colliding with the gravel. I have bruises and cuts to prove it! :) Apparently when we asked some friends if they saw us fall they said, "We didn't
see you fall, we
heard you fall!"

Again, the usual Ruthie pose for the Fourth of July.

The kids also raced to find coins in a sawdust pile.

Nae didn't care too much about the money...this was apparent when we went home and found her pockets full of sawdust and not much change. :)

The girls first night in their own beds.
