Home Alone & Missing Bradley ~

Before Brad left for a nearby village he shoveled out the plane before take-off. Ruthie enjoyed helping her Daddy out, while Nae and I casually watched in -10 temperatures.

Since the Iditarod came through our village we were able to volunteer and help out with it.
Brad and I found big chunks of hair in the garbage and after further investigation we discovered our Naomi Cheryl had taken a pair of scissors and given herself a haircut. She freely admitted this act of cosmetology, but we advised her to never do that ever, ever again. Thankfully you can't tell too much of a difference...unless of course you get close.
I loved this dog! She was the prettiest dog I saw all weekend. The girls really enjoyed seeing the sled dogs...one musher even offered them some dog booties to take home.
Aliy Zirkle was the first to come to our village and it was neat to be there when she came through...she was really friendly and chatted with the girls. Currently she and Dallas Seavey are battling it for Nome right now.
The girls, Brad and I say that we love each other "to the moon and back and back again." Well, when Ruthie found out the sun was farther she changed it from the moon to the sun. Our little Nae girl has caught onto the change and consistently says she loves me to the "soon and back and back again."

While my Love was gone I broke the handle on the woodstove. I immediately panicked...took a picture of my conundrum, then did my best to figure out the problem.
Besides breaking our woodstove while Brad was away, the girls and I baked cookies for the mushers who passed through the village.

I like this quote I found in a book I was reading:
"If Christ Jesus be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him." C.T. Studd
Below: Can you tell the girls and I have been listening to messages on the Global Church?
The girls and I listen to a sermon together each day...today Ruthie was writing in her notebook and turned to me and said, "I'm going to write a book." Below is her first chapter. :)
This is how we grocery shop in the bush. We order cereal online then await it's arrival by mail. Then we excitedly open the box to discover we finally have Cheerios and granola...it's well worth the long wait!
The other day I realized how neat potlucks are here. Not only do we get the blessing of eating dishes made with moose meat, but we get to eat bear, caribou, ptarmigan and muskox meat. A pretty good variety of delicious food!
