Only One Life, 'Twill Soon Be Past ~

Above: Brad went to early morning prayer on Monday and left me this note. Apparently I have no hair! :) Brad does a good job of encouraging me with his random, sweet notes. It really makes my day. :)
Brad takes Ruthie to Kid's Club most Fridays and I babysit a little girl named Marina during that time. Brad's learning more about Kid's Club so he can use the curriculum in the village we'll move to eventually.
Marina and Naomi play really well together. Marina turns three years old a day before Naomi...when I see them play together it reminds me of Naomi's twin we lost. Brad and I were talking about how fun it would be to have Naomi's twin with us.
My good friend bought us an ice cream maker! What a GREAT gift...she knows me well. Thanks so much Molly!
A lady at church asked me to make a cake for a baby shower this weekend. I made fondant and tried really hard to place it strategically on top of the cake...it broke in two and I threw a fit (a mature, somewhat controlled, indeed, sinful fit), and Ruthie said, "Mommy, you should be happy. Kids in other countries don't even have cakes." I was convicted. I usually use that statement on her when she whines...she used my statement against me! I praise the Lord for a daughter who holds me accountable to live out what I teach her.
A teacher and his wife moved to our village and they have three girls. It's neat because they are from Bozeman and attended the same church I did while in college....we even know some of the same people. Wendy, the wife, had a birthday party for her daughter this weekend.

While on Skype with Grandma Shilloy and Papa, Naomi randomly said, "Pull me in there!" She wanted to be with them...it was sweet.
Sunday mornings are quite busy for us. I compiled a list of items we bring to church every Sunday...these items tend to stress me out because (those who know me know why) I then have to monitor where each item is throughout the morning. We usually bring Bibles, notepad and pens, snack for girls, gloves, boots, snow pants, coats, hats and a crockpot or casserole. This list isn't too much, but when we take off all our winter gear sometimes after church it's hard to find everything.

I was having a hard time this past week with the lack of sun here (the happy light just wasn't doing it for me). It's been cloudy so the three hours the sun is suppose to shine was hidden by the clouds...Brad and I talked and prayed about it, then he reminded me of a quote that really changed my perspective and renewed my joy: "Only one life, 'twill soon be past; only what's done for Christ will last." We have this quote hanging above our dining room table and again I was encouraged to press on in Christ. God is good!
We finally got our Christmas tree.
We walked behind our house and found one.

I figured I would take advantage of the "enormity" of our tree and get a workout while hauling it back home. :)

I could even bench press it....I'm sure it weighs at least a hundred pounds?

Brad concocted this tree stand at first, but ended up making another one so we could water the tree.
We don't have too many ornaments so this week the girls and I will be making decorations during craft time. The angel on the top was Ruthie's craft at Sunday School last week.
