Can you believe it's ten below already? Reformation day was cold! :) We took the girls on our usual walk but only made it halfway before we turned back home...we might need to get the girls goggles to protect their faces better.Below: We "babysat" a couple church kids while their mom was out of the village...but actually, they babysat our girls instead!
It snowed enough to bring out the snow-go (bush talk for "snowmobile").
We haven't seen the sun for over a week and finally on Sunday we saw blue sky with rays of sunshine peeking through. I'm already tired of the dark...we've been told by multiple people to purchase a "happy light," and we finally bought one on Amazon. I'll need to have the light shine on me for about 1/2 to 1 hour each day. I think this will help when it officially darkens up for the winter months. But I do like it here a lot...even though it's dark I'm SO glad the Lord called us here!

Due to the emerging sun rays, our family decided to go sledding and take advantage of the light.

Sidenote: Apparently the mice we catch everyday (sometimes more) are actually voles. The other day we caught a shrew which was kinda neat (especially since it was dead and not alive).

It was so cold that one morning our bathroom tub had frozen water in it...there's a hole behind the shower that brings cold air in. Brad is trying to figure out how to fix it and insulate it. The previous renters just poured glycol down the drains to keep them from freezing...I've already taken a shower and discovered the pipes were frozen so the shower turned into a bath. :) Ah, the memories! Brad and I like to laugh at the funny stuff that goes on in this house.

The girls and I plan to bake cookies and deliver them to our six neighbors. We are praying that this will open up doors for us to share the Gospel with them. One neighbor we've tried to have over for dinner but he works midnights and is not around much during the day. Please pray he will be around the next time we go over.
Below: I love his eyes! My favorite!

Brad will be helping out with youth group tonight. This is the first for our church to do and the pastor wants to have youth group be a place for discipleship and growth in the teenager's lives. Brad and our pastor (Chris) will lead the guy's study. My friend and teammate (Theresa) is leading the girl's Bible study and I'm excited because she is a mature, godly Christian woman and I'm praying for the girls to grow in their relationship with Christ through the study.
Below: Our secret getaway lake. It's now frozen...I think it looked prettier in the summer.

Below: Our windows are frozen over and the door leading outside is frosted over too.
Our parents are like our very own personal Amazon orderers. It's great and such a blessing. I called my mom the other day just to see if she could mail us some honey (we're almost out). Then Cheryl was gracious enough to write on her shopping list "gloves." As you can see, I duct taped mine but water is still getting in. I also asked Cheryl to mail me a dishwasher, but unfortunately unlike Amazon she doesn't do free shipping. :)
