Moose Ribs ~

Above: This is what our house looks like after washing laundry...helps with the dry heat of the woodstove.
Some friends from church shot a moose the last day of the season and dropped some meat off to us. I cooked up some of the ribs and they tasted delicious! Brad really liked them but he's partial to ribs.
The girls and I had pink eye the last week or so. Glad we're almost over it.
I was reading a biography on John Paton (missionary to the New Hebrides). He mentioned his father was a praying man...I turned to Ruthie and asked her if she notices me praying much. She thought for awhile and then replied, "Um, you pray ein bisschen." For those who don't know German, ein bisschen means "a little." Convicting.
We bought some firewood from the boys basketball team. They were fundraising for travel expenses during their season. It was pretty expensive (we'll be glad when Brad can get our own wood this winter), but now we officially have two cords of wood. :)
There was a blanket I brought with us to the bush strictly to "use as packing." I told Brad that I planned to toss it once we arrived. Well, true to my word, I did toss it in the dump. BUT what I didn't plan for was the dump being the local shopping center. When we went to a friend's house for supper we noticed a familiar looking blanket on their couch...when I asked this particular friend where she got it she said, "Oh, the dump. I can't believe someone threw it away!" A lesson has been learned: if I want to get away with tossing something I'll have to burn it first. :)
