North to Alaska ~

It took us six days and 2600 miles to finally get to Alaska. We'll spend a week in Anchorage shopping, head to Fairbanks for barging and back to Anchorage for final packing (groceries, etc) and then a week-long conference. After that we'll move to our village.
Above and below: The girls were entertained with fruit snacks a good portion of the trip.
We spent some time on hikes throughout the trip, just to get the girls some exercise and have some time out of the car.

We also had a "picnic" along the road.
Naomi says hi to everyone she sees. She loves people. After saying hi to yet again another person, I said, "Nae, you're friendly!" She responded, "No! I'm Nae girl!"

On Mother's day Ruthie said to me, "Mommy, you take my breath away!" Hmm...I wonder where she got that statement?
Below: I was just SO excited to get out of the car.

After being exposed to outhouses along the highway (on very cold days), when Ruthie went into an inside bathroom she exclaimed excitedly, "It's warm! There are no holes in here!"
Our morning family devotions.

We stopped at Liard Hot Springs one afternoon for a break.

Below: An Oreo break (we can only wonder who requested that). :)

Brad let me walk a portion of the highway and picked me up at the next bridge. I ran part of the way. Now that sounds athletic and all, but to be honest, the reason I ran was because I thought a bear might jump out of the woods and get me...so much for my noble reasons for running!

Some of the trip was pretty cold and snowy.

Below: Another hike to get out of the car.
I was practicing my itching skills for when the mosquitos get bad this summer.
