A Short Recap of Naomi's Home Birth Story: I woke up January 23, 2009, feeling a bit down that Naomi hadn't come that night. Later that morning around 11:00am I began feeling small contractions. We proceeded in our usual plans for the day, such as a chiropractic appointment (it's weird having contractions while being adjusted) and a Walmart run. After returning home the contractions began to get stronger and closer together. We called our midwife and she arrived around 2:30pm. I was only at five centimeters at that time but the contractions from then on were so painful that I intensely told my midwife, "I need pain medication!" After checking me, the midwife announced the joyous news that I was at ten centimeters and ready to push. Naomi came five minutes later! Praise the Lord. We are so thankful that the Lord protected Naomi during labor and delivery. AND we are thankful our midwife got to our house in time for her birth :) Here are a few pictures of Naomi Cheryl...she arrived on January 23, 2009, at 3:50pm, weighing seven pounds, eight ounces and was twenty-one inches long.
